The overall focus of this webinar series will provide a platform for programs to share the progress of their activities, as part of the New Disorders Implementation Project, and highlight the activities performed or services provided to implement new disorders screening. This webinar was hosted on January 31, 2018, and included presentations by Amelia Mulford from Baby's First Test and Patrick Hopkins from the Missouri State Public Health Laboratory.
The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) collaborates with the Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) to implement the Newborn Screening Technical assistance and Evaluation Program (NewSTEPs). NewSTEPs is a national newborn screening resource center designed to provide data, technical assistance, and training to newborn screening programs and assist states with quality improvement initiatives. It functions with the goal of improving outcomes for newborns by facilitating newborn screening initiatives and programmatic outcomes to improve the overall quality of the newborn screening system.
