Baby's First Test Blog

  • Hello and welcome to the Baby’s First Test Blog!

Newborn screening in the United States reaches over 4 million babies every year! These important state programs identify thousands of newborns with health conditions that when caught early and provided with treatments can lead healthy lives.

Baby’s First Test connects parents and healthcare providers to information and materials about newborn screening to help families make informed decisions. This blog is an open space for families, parents, healthcare professionals – and anyone else with an interest in newborn screening – to learn about and impact newborn screening conversations and activities. Here, members of the newborn screening community and the public can learn from one another and explore opportunities in education and policy. We encourage open and transparent discussion, but ask that you please share your thoughts in a respectful way.

As this is our first blog entry, we would also like to take the opportunity to introduce you to the Baby’s First Test team

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions, concerns or just want to know more about the site. We would love to hear your comments about the site and suggestions to make it even better.

We look forward to the creative and engaging discussions to come, but until then, explore the site and don’t forget to check back here for new blog posts on newborn screening!
